The GCAN High Performance Service
The High Performance Support Services Scheme (HPSSS) provides opportunities for athletes and their coaches to access individualised high performance services from GCAN’s Partner Service Providers, at no direct cost to the athlete or coach.
The Scheme aims to:
- Develop athletes and coaches experience and understanding of the services available at the performance level.
- Enable coaches to identify their athlete’s needs and support athletes in gaining access to the services.
- Highlight how coaches and athletes can apply the services available in order to best enhance performance.
Any athlete/coach team within any of the GCAN Member Clubs can apply. Although there is no set criteria to apply for the scheme athletes should have reached County standard. Where possible Power of 10 ranking or equivalent will be used to support application.
Applications will be assessed by the GCAN Management Committee and successful applicants will agree with their coach and the GCAN Activator which services they access on an individual basis. GCAN will pick up the direct costs of the services that the applicants receive.
The number of successful applicants will be dependent on the year-to-year funding available within the scheme and the costs of the services available.
It is a requirement that the applicant’s coach is fully involved and engaged in the Scheme
How To Apply
All applicants must complete all sections of the Application Form and sign the Declaration, along with the coach.
The form should be completed electronically and sent to june.swift@gcan.org.uk by 31st October 2011.
Any questions regarding the scheme should be sent to the above e-mail address.
