Cambridge Triathlon Club
Cambridge Triathlon Club, one of the most successful Triathlon clubs in the country, is a vibrant and thriving club that was formed in 1985 to promote the sport of Triathlon in Cambridge and the surrounding area. Whilst we achieve a wealth of success we are a friendly, social and supportive club that makes any athlete feel welcome regardless of their age or their ability. Our membership varies from novice athletes through to international elite athletes who compete on the Olympic and World stages. Several of our members are either reigning or past national and world champions. Whilst we achieve a wealth of success we are a friendly, social and supportive club that makes any athlete feel welcome regardless of their age or their ability. As well as our senior section which caters for athletes the over 16’s we also have a vibrant junior section for young athletes between the ages of 8 and 16. Our members participate and compete in triathlons of all distance ranging from super sprint right though to double Ironman. In addition to triathlon our members are also active in the associated multi events of Duathlon and Aquathon, many of us also compete in swimming, running, cross country and cycling only events.
Our team of coaches, who are all qualified either through British Triathlon or their specific disciplines governing body, run structured training sessions at various locations around the Cambridge area throughout the year. Whilst we are primarily a competition club not all our members compete the join purely to train with like minded people to improve their fitness or skill in a particular discipline and to have a bit of fun at the same time. As well as the sporting side of things we are also active socially having pub night, BBQ’s, quiz nights, etc. The only thing we ask of our members is that they help out at least at one of the three competition events we organise each year.
